The NCT group at ZITI is organizing the FPGA Ignite 2024 Summer School (Aug. 5-9) with a full week of networking, classes (mostly related to RISC-V) and a hackathon to design a chip (that will be fabricated).

Check out:

The plan for the hackathon is to design a RISC-V SoC with support for custom instructions (eventually reconfigurable ones), peripherals or accelerators, or whatever participants are coming up with. Attendees should have some background in digital hardware design and/or system programming to fully appreciate the courses. We are planning for a dedicated entry-level hackathon at some later date.

The FPGA Ignite series is supported by Carl Zeiss Stiftung and Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (through the project DI-OWAS). Attending FPGA Ignite is free of charge (including tapeout cost).
