There are a lot of discussions wether a master class in Germany should be held in English to invite foreign students. We are happy to welcome students from abroad, nevertheless we decided to hold the lectures mostly in German: for the German majority of students, this simplifies understanding and participation. Most foreign students being in Germany are learning German and need to practice. Having lectures in English is in many cases (in particular for non English native speakers) a significant double effort with permanent switching between English and German. In order to help foreign students with still modest German knowledge

  • all teachers speak English so that questions and answers can also be given in English,
  • important documents like the module description (or this web site) are available in English,
  • examinations can be held in English on student request and
  • the course documents are (/will be) mostly in English.
